Denver Home Office Project
Corporate offices have long understood the value that art brings to their spaces- increased productivity, creativity, and a meaningful connection to their work space. Companies are investing in art to create a meaningful work environment and communicate their company culture from the minute a client or employee (current or perspective), walks in the door.
But as more and more of us are working from home either full or part time, how can that translate to the home office? We have video meetings, conference calls, and spend most of the day (and sometimes the night!) in our home offices. The artwork on our walls is visible behind us in every video conference. Artwork can make a big statement before a word has even been said. What is your home office saying about you?
SKM Art Advising worked with a client in Denver, Colorado who spends a large portion of her work day leading meetings with her team, and with clients around the world from her home office. The wall behind her desk that was visible during these conference calls was, in her words, “bland, uninspiring, and not very exciting.” She told us that she wanted a work space that was inspiring and calming at the same time. Not an easy task!
We worked closely with the client to select artwork that was aligned with her goals and had a connection to the Denver art community. The final pieces incorporated calming imagery of natural elements with a bright and energetic giclee on paper of a dancer in mid-air.
It all comes together with the final installation. Espresso frames were chosen to allow the artwork itself to take center stage, and the frame to disappear against the dark wall. White frames were discussed, but this client wanted full focus to be on the artwork and opted for the espresso finish.
“I absolutely LOVE it ALL and everything arrived on time and perfect. The frames, the matting everything just took my breath away. Each one is unique, and they all work together. I haven’t been this excited about artwork –EVER.”
At SKM Art Advising, we believe that art changes everything. The artwork has changed the energy of the room, as well as the energy of the client. Her clients have noticed and been impressed by her backdrop and the quality of her interactions has improved. Human beings respond to their environments, so why not surround yourself with meaningful, inspiring, and exciting artwork?
